Psychotherapy, Hypnotherapy, Counseling and Parent Education

Our individual, couples, family and group counseling and psychotherapy emphasizes common sense approaches to solving problems and developing personal growth.  We frequently help our child, adolescent and adult clients resolve and move beyond their difficulties, even chronic or traumatic issues, within a few sessions.  We use the most modern and brief therapy models to treat even the most severe of problems of Anxiety, Panic, Trauma and Phobia.                                  Parent Education is offered through counseling sessions or when groups are formed for Denton Kurtz to teach, share and mentor each of the parents who participate.                         Call 407 629-9003 by mid December to schedule your 6 session group  to meet for 2 hours each session during the weeks in January, February and March of each year.

Reading and other Learning Problems

We bring decades of experience and skill to the tasks of identifying and minimizing or resolving the issues caused by learning disorders.  We can give you the specific, proven, treatment that will enable success or we can train others to do that work, as we act as treatment consultants to insure the quality of their work.  Our professionals work as a team with our clients to address not only learning disabilities, but also the emotional problems which result from a person’s loss of self worth and esteem.  We also have wide ranging experience in evaluating and treating those with Attention Deficit Disorders and in evaluating the Gifted and Talented.                                  Additionally, besides his Board Certification in School Psychology, Denton Kurtz is a Certified Irlen Syndrome Screener (see www.irlen.com).

Business and Sports Psychology

Successful businesses often need an outside objective “eye”, someone with a different perspective.  That person needs to have a great deal of experience with people and situations that occur in business groups.  Sometimes there are communication, morale, efficiency or personnel problems.  In any case, we have seen it all and know how to get you the changes you need.  In Sports there is one main thing needed besides training and “perfect practice” and that is getting into and staying in the “zone”.  The techniques we use are fun and fulfilling; and able to be learned by the least able to the professional level.  Sometimes personal, confidential/private counseling is desired by the sports man, especially the professional who is under lots of pressure.  We have the knowledge and experience to provide those needs, too.                                                                                                                                 Denton M.
